CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies, sports teams, all military branches, and professional athletes worldwide. It’s also being implemented in nursing homes, pre-schools, and rehabilitation centers. CrossFit is a program that’s all inclusive and adaptable to anyone despite their fitness levels.
At Golden Phoenix CrossFit you will not find rows of ellipticals or other stationary bikes or weight machines. Instead, you will find an open space to run, jump, squat, and lift, filled with pull-up bars, kettlebells, barbells, and dumbbells. Workouts are comprised of exercises that mimic movements performed in day-to-day life like sitting (squat), picking things up (deadlift), lifting things up overhead (pressing). CrossFit’s goals are to improve everyone in each of ten general physical skills: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. CrossFit defines fitness as increased work capacity across all these domains and says its program achieves this by provoking neurologic and hormonal adaptations across all metabolic pathways.
CrossFitters run, row, jump rope, climb rope and carry odd objects. They frequently move large and heavy loads quickly over short distances, and sometimes uses powerlifting and olympic weightlifting techniques. CrossFitters also use dumbbells, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, and many bodyweight exercises to prepare everyone for the expected and sometimes unexpected.
If you are someone who:
- Is looking to get in shape but can’t face going to a gym
- Has lost interest in your gym routine
- Thinks you don’t have time to exercise
- Is looking to get faster or stronger in your sport
- Is no longer seeing results with your current training regime, OR
- Just plain wants to look good in a bathing suit
Then Golden Phoenix CrossFit is for YOU. Every workout is different, and since you will rarely do the same thing twice, you are less likely to lose interest or get bored than if you were doing the same circuits at the gym three days a week. Because our workouts are rarely more than 45 minutes long they can fit into even the busiest schedules.
