What was your exercise regime before CrossFit?

 

Before CrossFit I was a runner.  I would run about 25 miles a week. 

How many WODs per week do you attend?

I attend at least 3-4 WODs during the week, proud member of the 5:15 A.M. class, it’s the best way to start the day, and sometimes I make it to Saturday morning.

Favorite CrossFit exercise?

My favorite CrossFit exercise is squats, specifically back squats.

Least favorite exercise?

My least favorite exercise is thrusters, the worst.

What would you tell a newbie getting started that helped you?

Don’t be afraid.  I was a runner before this and pretty set in my ways and to be honest I was terrified to try CrossFit.  I had suffered a back injury a few years ago and never wanted to go through that pain again.  I eventually gave in and gave it a try and I loved it, loved the workouts, loved the environment, loved the coaches, loved everything.  And I have had some obstacles due to my previous injury, but every setback allows me (and the coaches) another chance to comeback, modify, and make me even stronger.  Had I let fear get the best of me, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today and I would have missed out on my Golden Phoenix family. 

What would you like to accomplish in the next 3 months?

I would like to get handstand push-ups, rope climbs, and/or toes-to-bar

What is a fun fact about you?

I can accurately sort people into their Hogwarts house.

Pull-Ups

Least favorite exercise?

Overhead squats

What would you tell a newbie getting started that helped you?

Show up for the first 3 weeks no matter what, work through the pain.

What would you like to accomplish in the next 3 months?

 I would like to lose some weight, and RX the wod's.
