Laura has been CrossFitting for some time now but continues to make huge improvements. She has been consistently wodding and it has proven to be working in her favor with her recent Personal Records set. Although she is humble, she is a force to be reckoned with. Strength and Focus are some of the hardest skills to learn in CrossFit and Laura exemplifies them perfectly. Her competitive drive and sound movements are a pleasure to coach and have in class.
What was your exercise regime before CrossFit? I was always an athlete but besides practices I attended colosseum gym before crossfit
How many WODs per week do you attend? I try to get there 4-5 times a week
Favorite CrossFit exercise? Wall balls
Least favorite exercise? Burpees
What would you tell a newbie getting started that helped you? The first few weeks are the hardest, it never gets easier but with time you will be amazed at what your body can eventually do
What would you like to accomplish in the next 3 months? A pull up that's all I ask a single pull up without bands
What is a fun fact about you? I still play softball . I get to travel and its competitive and I love it!
Cory joined us just recently in Oct but you would think he was CrossFitting for way longer. He was strong but needed a lot of helping in refining movements. He was super determined and stayed after wods, asked for help, and has come such a long way. His barbells movements have become seamless (even his OHS), and he has become gymnasty on the rig. With Cory being as coachable as he is, we are excited to see what the future holds for him.
What was your exercise regime before CrossFit? I belonged to a gym and would go 3-4 times a week, sometimes.
How many WODs per week do you attend? I usually attend 5 WODS per week
Favorite CrossFit exercise? Clean
Least favorite exercise? Burpees and wall balls
What would you tell a newbie getting started that helped you? Keep an open mind you will learn something new every WOD you attend. Don't be afraid to push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
What would you like to accomplish in the next 3 months? Consistent toes to bar, muscle ups, better form on overhead squats, 300 lb. back squat, master double unders, and the list goes on.
What is a fun fact about you? I have a phoenix tattoo! Doesn't that qualify me for athlete of the year or something?! lol
